We’re proud to support local charities through the Bantry Bay Adventure Race.
CoAction was founded on the philosophy of ‘a local service for local needs’, and with this in mind local branches of volunteers were established in Castletownbere, Clonakilty, Dunmanway and Skibbereen, in addition to the original branch in Bantry.
CoAction has developed comprehensive services for both children and adults with an intellectual disability and autism in the West Cork area and now provides services for 598 children and 140 adults. CoAction is the designated service provider for children & adults with an intellectual disability and Autism in the West Cork area.
Bantry Inshore Rescue Association
Bantry Inshore Search and Rescue Association is a voluntary group set up to provide an emergency lifeboat service to the Bantry Bay community.
BISRA was formed in 1987, after the tragic drowning of two young people in the upper bay area. The local community set about establishing a rapid response unit to cover the area from Shot Head to White Horse Point.
Whiddy Island Development Association
Over the last few years, the Whiddy Island Development Association has done a huge amount of work to support the development of heritage projects on the island. Funds raised will go towards the island community’s goal of preserving and developing Whiddy Island – one of seven inhabited islands along the West Cork coastline.
This is a ‘not-for-profit’ event, organised to support local charities and non-profit organisations.
